Job Summary The Pharmacy Supervisor is the key technical professional responsible for the strategic oversight and flawless operation of the MSF pharmacy and medical supply chain within the Kebbi project. Key Responsibilities and Deliverables I. Strategic Pharmacy Management and Quality Assurance Oversee the entire pharmaceutical supply chain process, ensuring the efficient, smooth running of the central pharmacy and proper stock management across all peripheral and outreach units. Establish and enforce rigorous protocols for storage conditions (temperature, humidity, light exposure, pest control) to guarantee the integrity and quality of all drugs and medical equipment, in collaboration with the logistics team. Conduct frequent, systematic quality control checks and maintain comprehensive archives of all quality control documentation to ensure absolute compliance with Good Storage Practice (GSP). Coordinate the efficient supply of MSF-supported peripheral pharmacies based on consumption patterns and stock levels, utilizing the cold chain as necessary. II. Inventory, Logistics, and Consumption Control Manage the end-to-end process for international and local medical orders, including coordinating delivery, meticulous receipt, and accurate registration in stock sheets and the central inventory system (Isystock). Maintain safety stock levels permanently and actively monitor, analyze, and report on stock status (shortages, surpluses, and impending expiry dates) to the operational manager to prevent disruptions. Supervise all medical and medication orders to ensure appropriate, rational consumption across care units, implementing controls to prevent waste and adhering to budgetary constraints. Promote strategic inventory management policies aimed at minimizing losses resulting from expiration, damage, overstocking ("sleeping stocks"), and under-stocking. III. Team Leadership and Pharmaceutical Care Supervise, lead, and develop the pharmaceutical team and relevant nursing staff, coordinating with Human Resources on recruitment, performance feedback, and capacity building initiatives. Control and monitor the correct dispensing of medications at both the institutional and community level, ensuring adherence to medical prescriptions. Provide training and orientation to healthcare personnel on proper medication dispensing, potential drug interactions, side effects, and correct storage methods for patients. Ensure accurate recording and reporting of medicine consumption in the Isystock system, alerting the management team to any unusual consumption trends and supporting future needs anticipation. Essential Skills and Qualifications Professional Requirements Education: Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) degree. Registration: Valid, current license with the Pharmacist Council of Nigeria (PCN) is mandatory. Experience: Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of post-qualification experience in a pharmacy, hospital, or medical warehouse setting. Desirable: Previous experience working with MSF or another international non-governmental organization (INGO).
