Aid Initiative to Support Vulnerable and Ideal People (AISVIP) is a Non-Governmental Organization geared toward empowering vulnerable and less privilege people in the society. The organization history dates back to 2016 when group of people conceived an idea of contributing to humanitarian activities in North East Nigeria. The organization was registered with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) on 17th July 2018, as a non-political, non-profitable, National-based organization. It is committed to improve the quality of life of most vulnerable and less privileged people, particularly people affected by insurgency in North East Nigeria. Also the organization has been accredited by Borno State Committee on Humanitarian Response (BOSCHR), Office of the Secretary to the State Government, and also recommended by Borno State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA). The Ultimate goal of AISVIP is to empower and inspire vulnerable and less privilege people, to contribute for peace and nation building. Over the years, AISVIP has grown significantly both in terms of its programs and geographical coverage in Borno and Yobe states in partnership with UN Agencies, National and International Organization.
Aid Initiative to Support Vulnerable and Idle People core mandates include Protection according to the rule of law, Educational Support, Livelihood support, Enlightenment for Peace and Community Development, and Waste Management.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Child Protection Assistant
Locations: Jere LGA – Borno and Fune LGA – Yobe
Employment Type: Contract
Responsibilties
Child Protection Service Delivery:
- Support identification, registration, and referral of children at risk, including unaccompanied and separated children (UASC).
- Assist in child protection case management under the supervision of the Protection Officer.
- Support implementation of structured psychosocial support (PSS) activities for children and caregivers.
Community Engagement & Prevention:
- Facilitate child-friendly awareness sessions on child rights, protection risks, and available services.
- Engage parents, caregivers, community leaders, and protection committees on child protection issues.
- Support family tracing and reunification (FTR) activities for at-risk children where applicable.
Monitoring, Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of child protection cases and activities using approved tools.
- Support protection monitoring and reporting of child protection trends and risks at community level.
- Assist in collecting feedback from children and caregivers in line with accountability to affected populations (AAP).
Safeguarding & Ethics:
- Ensure all child protection activities adhere to child safeguarding, PSEAH, and confidentiality standards.
- Promote safe referral pathways and child-friendly complaint mechanisms.
Qualifications
- Interested candidates should possess an OND / NCE / B.Ed Degree with 2 – 5 years experience.
