Opportunity: Account Officer, Nasarawa (KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation)
Are you a highly meticulous finance professional ready to apply your expertise to a life-saving cause? KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation is actively fighting the world’s deadliest infectious disease, and we need a dedicated Account Officer to manage the financial foundation of our critical projects in Nasarawa.
This is more than just an accounting job—it’s a central role ensuring every resource is effectively deployed in the fight against TB.
1. Your Mission & Key Responsibilities
Based in Nasarawa, you will be the core of the regional finance unit, reporting technically to the Finance Manager (Abuja) and administratively to the Senior Program Manager.
Your Primary Duties Include:
- Financial Control: Timely and accurate registration of all transactions in the accounting system.
- Compliance Guardian: Ensuring absolute adherence to KNCV’s policies and, critically, all US Government (USG) financial management and accounting policies and regulations.
- Treasury Management: Preparing and processing payments, managing vendor accounts, and reconciling bank statements.
- Oversight: Monitoring advance accounts, assisting with the annual audit process, and maintaining the inventory list of all KNCV Nigeria assets in the cluster.
- Documentation: Ensuring all expenses are timely paid, documented, and properly filed for full accountability.
2. Your Essential Profile
We are looking for a financial expert who is detail-oriented and understands the demands of international donor-funded projects.
Non-Negotiable Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 5 years of professional experience in finance management and accounting, preferably within a project setting.
- USG Expertise: Demonstrable, hands-on experience with accounting and financial reporting for USG-supported projects. This is a mandatory skill set.
- Certification: Possession of ICAN or ACCA is highly preferred and a significant advantage.
- Technical Edge: Knowledge of relevant accounting software systems. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a major plus.
- Soft Skills: Must be highly self-driven, flexible, transparent, and possess excellent communication skills for dual-reporting and external relationship management (e.g., local banks).
3. Application Guidance
To make your application stand out, please ensure your CV and cover letter are tailored to this specific role:
- Be Explicit about USG Experience: Clearly detail the duration and nature of your experience with USG financial compliance and reporting.
- Highlight Certification: If certified (ICAN/ACCA), state this prominently.
- Focus on Integrity: Emphasize your commitment to transparency and confidential information management.
We offer a fast-paced, results-oriented culture with a highly motivated international team, and frequent capacity building opportunities.
Deadline: December 14th, 2025. We may close this vacancy early if a suitable candidate is identified.
(Only shortlisted candidates will receive feedback. All successful candidates will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation.)
