The scope of work (SOW) sets forth the services to be provided by the Operations Associate to Technical Advice Connect LTD/GTE (TAConnect), a non-profit organization registered and based in Nigeria, with the mandate to strengthen health system and quality of service delivery.
TAConnect is implementing a multi-year maternal and newborn health system strengthening project in Borno and Gombe States, with the goal of reducing maternal and newborn mortality. The program focuses on strengthening health facilities’ capacity to provide quality Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (EmONC), improving demand and access to skilled delivery, deploying digital and interoperable systems for data-driven decision-making.

Job Description
The Operations Associate will provide administrative, logistics, and operational support to ensure the smooth functioning of TAConnect’s head office in Abuja. The role will assist in implementing procurement, logistics, inventory, and general administrative functions in compliance with TAConnect and donor policies. He/She will also ensure adherence to TAConnects’ policies and donor regulations in the states.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
- Assist in preparing purchase requests, sourcing quotations, and drafting vendor selection sheets.
- Support in maintaining procurement documentation, including purchase orders, delivery notes, invoices, and payment follow-up.
- Provide logistical support for meetings, trainings, workshops, and official events (venue booking, travel arrangements, participant logistics).
- Assist in the coordination of office supplies and ensure timely restocking.
- Support the maintenance of an up-to-date asset and inventory register.
- Assist in tagging, recording, and tracking TAConnect assets and consumables.
- Monitor the condition of office equipment and follow up on routine servicing and repairs.
- Provide day-to-day office administration support, including record-keeping, filing, and correspondence.
- Support in maintaining vendor and service provider databases.
- Assist with travel and accommodation arrangements for staff and consultants.
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of operational records for audit purposes.
- Support in ensuring that operations activities comply with TAConnect policies and donor requirements.
- Assist in preparing routine operational reports (procurement status, asset status, logistics updates).
- Escalate operational issues in a timely manner.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in operations, logistics, administration, or procurement, preferably within NGOs or donor-funded projects.
- Basic knowledge of procurement, inventory management, and office administration.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Supervision
The Operations Associate will report directly to the Operations Analyst.
Working Conditions/Duration of Assignment
This is a full-time position, based in Abuja, Nigeria.
