Job Title: Nutrition Supervisor
Location: Sokoto

Job Description
- Ensure the implementation of all nutritional related activities of the programme and coordinate and manage the team under his/her responsibility according to the MSF protocols in order to improve the nutritional conditions of the target population.
General Accountabilities
- Plan and oversee all nutrition-related activities, including staffing, budgeting, and service quality in line with MSF protocols.
- Supervise and support nutrition team recruitment, training, and performance in coordination with HR.
- Monitor implementation of outpatient nutrition programs, patient progress, referrals, and adherence to medical and nutritional protocols.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of medical equipment and that staff are well trained.
- Supervise hygiene and nursing care standards.
- Ensure mothers understand their role in their child’s care (feeding, hygiene, etc.).
- Work closely with the pharmacy team to manage nutrition stock levels and avoid shortages.
- Oversee data collection, compile statistics, and share reports with the team and line manager.
MSF Specific Context Accountabilities
- Oversee nutrition care for severe acute malnutrition patients at Noma Children’s Hospital and the In-Patient Therapeutic Feeding Centre (ITFC), ensuring adherence to MSF protocols.
- Conduct nutrition assessments upon patient admission and manage their nutritional and health needs throughout treatment.
- Participate in daily ward rounds with medical doctors to assess patients and develop management plans.
- Ensure proper implementation of treatment plans, including nutrition support, rehydration, and hygiene practices.
- Train, supervise, and support the nutrition team, including nursing assistants and kitchen staff, to maintain high-quality care standards.
- Ensure adherence to Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) protocols and universal precautions by all nutrition team members.
- Educate and counsel patients and their families on nutritional issues, ensuring mothers are informed about their roles during hospitalization.
Requirements & Qualifications

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is essential. Diploma in Nutrition is desirable.
- Experience: Minimum 2 year experience as Nutrition Nurse.
- Languages: English and Hausa language essential
- Knowledge: Desirable computer literacy (word, excel)
