Job Title: Nurse
Section: Health
Duration: 6 Months
Duty Station: Adamawa state (Madagali)
Reports to: Mobile Medical Outreach Coordinator
Start Date: IMMEDIATELY
Job Summary
The Nurse will provide high-quality nursing and primary health care services as part of the mobile medical outreach team, ensuring timely and effective health interventions to vulnerable populations affected by humanitarian crises. The position focuses on maternal, newborn, and child health, infection prevention, and health education.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide curative and preventive nursing care in line with national and WHO standards.
• Conduct medical consultations, wound dressing, and treatment of minor ailments.
• Support maternal and newborn health services, including ANC, PNC, safe delivery, and family planning counseling.
• Ensure proper triage, vital signs recording, and infection prevention and control (IPC) practices.
• Administer prescribed medications and injections as per doctor’s or CHEW’s orders.
• Support immunization sessions and health promotion activities during outreach.
• Keep accurate patient records, drug usage, and submit daily activity reports.
• Participate in disease surveillance, referrals, and follow-up of complicated cases.
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of outreach kits and supplies.
• Promote community health education and awareness on hygiene and preventive health.
Qualifications and Experience
• Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Midwife (RM) with current practicing license from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
• Minimum of 3 years clinical experience in a primary health care or humanitarian setting.
• Experience in maternal and child health, immunization, or mobile outreach is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of IPC and emergency response principles.
• Fluency in English and local language(s) preferred.
