We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: NTDs Program / M&E Intern
Locations: Borno and Katsina
Scope of the position
- Willingness to work in remote LGA/communities supervising mass drug administration for NTDs
- Recognize opportunities for learning and take initiative to learn and participate in activities according to the implementation plan
- Support the state program team to conduct training of program implementers
- Support the state team in implementation of key activities such as; supervision of mass drug administration of NTD medicines, data validation and collection, morbidity management and disability prevention (hydrocele surgery)
- Assist the team to enter program data by providing support to Helen Keller contracted resident independent monitors during data entry into the national template
- Participate in supporting the distribution of NTDs commodities from the state medical store to the last mile which is the health facility ensuring strict adherence to the distribution plan
- Participate in data quality assessment exercise like spot checks, data validation, WHO supervisors coverage tool and supervisor’s coverage surveys
- Work closely the resident independent monitors for filing/archiving documentation both softcopies and hardcopies of financial documents and ODK supervision checklist
- Adherence to all Helen Keller International policies and procedures as outlined in Helen Keller International policies and procedure manuals
- Conduct himself/herself both professionally and personally in such a manner as to bring credit to Helen Keller International and to not jeopardize the organization image
- Support the development of case studies and success stories from programme implementation.
- Other duties that may be assigned.
Requirements
- Candidates should possess a First Degree from a recognized university with at least 2 years relevant work experience.
- Experience in community-based programming will be an added advantage
- Excellent communication skills and a willingness to be respectful, kind, sensitive and empathize with all beneficiaries
- Good communication skills (verbal and written).
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Understands local language and terrain
- Acceptable IT Skills.
