The Bakhita Initiative (TBI-JDPC) Sokoto is a Catholic, faith-based non-governmental organization committed to promoting human dignity, social justice, peacebuilding, and sustainable development. The organization implements humanitarian and development interventions across Northwest Nigeria, focusing on vulnerable and crisis-affected populations.

Under the ECHO SAHARA Project, TBI-JDPC Sokoto delivers life-saving assistance through integrated programming, including Multipurpose Cash Assistance (MPCA).

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Multipurpose Cash (MPC) Assistant

Location: Daura, Katsina

Contract Duration: 12 Months

Position Summary

  • The Multipurpose Cash (MPC) Assistant will support the implementation of cash-based interventions at the field level, ensuring efficient, transparent, and accountable delivery of assistance to vulnerable households in line with donor requirements and humanitarian standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of Multipurpose Cash Assistance (MPCA) activities in target communities.
  • Assist in beneficiary identification, registration, and verification processes.
  • Support the organization and facilitation of cash distributions (mobile money, vendor-assisted, or direct cash).
  • Assist in conducting market price monitoring and field assessments.
  • Maintain accurate beneficiary records and documentation.
  • Support Post-Distribution Monitoring (PDM) and other data collection activities.
  • Promote and support accountability mechanisms, including feedback and complaint systems.
  • Engage with community leaders and beneficiaries to ensure effective communication and transparency.
  • Provide regular field updates and support reporting processes.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of a National Diploma (ND) or Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Economics, or a related field.
  • 1 – 2 years of experience in humanitarian or community-based programming.
  • Experience supporting cash-based interventions is an added advantage.
  • Familiarity with mobile data collection tools (e.g., KoboCollect, ODK) is desirable.
  • Basic understanding of humanitarian principles and standards.
  • Fluency in English and Hausa is required.
