We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Media and Communication Assistant

Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • We are looking for a creative and proactive Communication and Media Assistant to enhance our brand presence, engage stakeholders, and effectively communicate our programs and impact.
  • The ideal candidate should be skilled in content creation, social media management, and public relations.

Key Responsibilities
Content Creation & Management:

  • Develop compelling written, visual, and multimedia content for social media, website, and newsletters.
  • Manage and update CTYDI’s social media pages (Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, and TikTok) with relevant and engaging posts.
  • Create press releases, blog posts, and reports highlighting CTYDI’s activities and impact.
  • Edit and upload messages or other media outputs as podcasts i.e. purpose nuggets.

Social Media & Digital Marketing:

  • Develop and execute social media strategies to grow engagement and followers.
  • Monitor trends and analytics to optimize content for better reach and impact.
  • Run targeted advertising campaigns to promote events and initiatives.

Media & Public Relations:

  • Build and maintain relationships with journalists, bloggers, and media houses to enhance our reach.
  • Draft and distribute press releases and coordinate media coverage for CTYDI programs.
  • Support event planning by managing media relations and promotional materials.

Internal & External Communication:

  • Ensure consistent messaging across all communication platforms.
  • Support the preparation of reports, speeches, and presentations for stakeholders.
  • Assist in organizing and promoting community engagement programs.

Person Specification & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 1 – 2 years of experience in communication, media, or digital marketing.
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in graphic design tools (Canva, Photoshop) and video editing software is a plus.
  • Experience with social media management tools
  • Passion for youth development, advocacy, and community engagement.
