Job Title: MEAL Consultant (Beneficiary Registration, Verification and PDM)

Location: Fufore LGA, Adamawa
Employment Type: Contract
Duration: Task-based across project phases

Project Background

  • Christian Rural and Urban Development Association of Nigeria (CRUDAN) is implementing an Anticipatory Action project in Fufore to mitigate the adverse effect of riverine flooding in Fufore LGA of Adamawa state.
  • The NHF funded project will provide life saving support for the most vulnerable households along the river bank within selected communities.
  • This project responds directly to multisectoral priorities, particularly in areas affected by displacement, flooding, and heightened GBV risk.

Purpose of the Consultancy:

  • We seek an experienced MEAL Consultant to provide strategic MEAL support at key points in the project lifecycle:
  • At inception, to lead the beneficiary verification and registration,
  • Post-distribution, to conduct a Post-Distribution Monitoring (PDM) exercise.
  • The consultant will ensure quality data collection, analysis, and reporting to inform project design, accountability, and learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and refine tools for registration and PDM, ensuring gender and protection-sensitive approaches.
  • Train and supervise enumerators during data collection.
  • Coordinate field-level data collection across Fufore LGAs.
  • Ensure data quality, cleaning, and analysis using appropriate digital tools (e.g., KoboToolbox).
  • Produce comprehensive reports for baseline, registration summary, and PDM, with actionable insights for program adaptation.
  • Present key findings to program and MEAL teams and facilitate learning sessions.

Expected Deliverables

  • Inception report with methodology and tools
  • Clean and verified datasets
  • Two reports: Beneficiary Registration and Verification Summary and PDM Report
  • Presentation slides summarising findings and recommendations

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree in Social Sciences, Public Health, Development Studies, M&E, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in MEAL roles within humanitarian contexts, preferably in Multisectoral programmes.
  • Proven experience conducting beneficiary registrations and PDM.
  • Proficiency in mobile data collection tools (KoboToolbox, ODK) and statistical analysis software.
  • Demonstrated understanding of gender, GBV, SEA, and AAP principles.
  • Strong analytical and report writing skills.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Hausa or Kanuri is an advantage.

Engagement Timeline:
The consultant will be engaged at two strategic phases:

  • Phase 1: Project inception – Baseline & beneficiary registration.
  • Phase 2: Post-distribution – PDM.
