CONTEXT
Médecins Sans Frontières is a private, not-for-profit international humanitarian organization dedicated to providing medical assistance to populations in distress, without discrimination and regardless of race, religion, creed or political affiliation.
MSF has been active in Katsina since February 2021 after carrying an exploratory mission that end up with an opening of the project.
Currently, MSF is running an ITFC (Inpatient Therapeutic Feeding Centre) in Katsina in the Kofar Sauri PHCC and 4 ATFC (Ambulatory Therapeutic Feeding Centre) including three in Jibia LGA (Magama, Daddara, Riko,) and one in Katsina City (Kofar Marusa).
MAIN PURPOSE
Supervising the daily logistics activities and providing maintenance to the MSF equipment, facilities and infrastructures, according to MSF standards and protocols to maintain the facilities in perfect conditions and collaborate in the development of the mission.
JOB DESCRIPTION
• Monitoring maintenance activities of infrastructures, management of non-medical stocks and equipment according to MSF standards
• Ensuring the check and follow-up of hospital facility under the line manager’s supervision through daily checks and reporting any anomalies or problems, evaluation of the rehabilitation needs and following up minor building rehabilitation work according to supervisor’s instructions; checking that the premise observe security norms and monitoring the consumption of mechanical and electrical machines/devices.
• Planning together with the line manager the required checks and maintenance activities of energy systems/set-up according to MSF standards
• Coordinating and leading the logistics team under his/her responsibility which includes daily supervision, monitoring the quality of work and the definition of each person’s task, drawing up their working schedules; organizing and leading team meetings; participating in the recruitment of team personnel and attending logistics meetings and accounting for his activities.
• Ensuring the equipment maintenance which includes planning and overseeing timely preventive and curative maintenance according to MSF standards
• Managing and following orders which include collecting logistics orders coming from different departments or health facilities; drawing up and following up orders according to the procedures in force; and ensuring reception and storekeeping conditions of arriving material as well as the organization and setting up of materials before its shipment
Stocks and Supplies
• Manages the facility supplies and consumables which include Office Supplies & Stationaries, Hygiene Supplies and logistics consumables.
• Generators Fuel, responsible for the fuel requesting and refilling of all generators in the hospital facility, monthly fuel consumption follow ups, fuel consumption analysis and reporting to the Hospital Log Manager
• Monthly inventories of all supplies and consumables, fuel inventories and monthly preparation of all internal requests in accordance with the needs and the stock available to replenish
• Memo inventories focal person for the hospital facility which includes Generators, Energy and Cold chain equipment, WatSan Equipment, IT, Radio Com and Sat
• Maintenance
• Ensure the proper planning and follow-ups of all daily, monthly and periodic maintenance of all equipment and facilities at the hospital facility
• Support the Maintenance Agents by planning and supervising all the maintenance activities according to the needs and priorities
• Responsible for premises utilities at the hospital facility which includes Electricity Supply and bills, Water Supply and Gas supply and fire extinguishers to all the premises and maintenance follow ups
• Human Resources
• Supervisor of the Maintenance Agents in the hospital facility, watchmen and daily workers under his domain.
• Responsible for the preparation of the watchmen rosters, plan their regular leave breaks, circumstancial leaves and any other replacement deemed applicable for the team members.
• Plan for the replacement of the maintenance agent in case of any absentia or an planned leaves
• Responsible for the regular Bilan evaluation of the team under his supervision which includes Watchmen and Maintenance Agents and plan accordingly with respect to the administrative procedures.
• Security
• Responsible for the security follow-ups of the premises under his supervision, report any incident or abnormal activity to the line manager for further actions.
• Periodic briefing of his team members on the security memos, guidelines, protocols and developments in respect to their field of operations
REQUIREMENTS
Education Diploma or degree in technical logistics management or related studies
Experience At least one year in MSF or 2 years in a similar post out of MSF
Knowledge Essential computer literacy (word, excel)
Languages Hausa and English languages essential. Mission language is desirable

208 working hours per month.
REMUNERATION
According to MSF salary scale plus 13th month allowance equivalent to 1 month of gross salary
