We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Livelihood and Economic Recovery Officer
Location: Sokoto

Responsibilities
- The Livelihood and Economic Recovery Officer will be responsible for delivering livelihoods and empowerment services within targeted communities.
- S/he identifies the type of assistance for specific populations.
- S/he will coordinate and conduct rapid sectorial needs and market assessments in the field, and provide regular monitoring of field activities, per timely inputs and feedback to the state program manager.
- Support the provision of Household Economic Strengthening interventions that is aligned with socio-economic vulnerability status, designed to improve household resilience to shocks, reduce food insecurity (access and availability).
- Provide capacity building and mentorship to the SPADs team with a focus on implementation and management of community-based savings groups, optimized financial education, market assessment, opportunity identification, value addition along with identified value-chains based, entrepreneurship, and micro-enterprise management.
- Collaborate with Agriculture Institutes within the state to strengthen farm-based livelihoods and improve food access and availability among vulnerable populations and IDPs
- Conduct joint monitoring and supportive supervision visits with Government officials to support high-quality HES intervention and SILC implementation.
- Lead/Support trainings in prioritized areas of Economic Recovery, and HES in collaboration with the Health and Nutrition Officer
- Document project results and impacts in various forms, including success stories, promising practices, lessons learned, case studies, client satisfaction, etc.
Minimum Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Economics, Business Administration, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field with a minimum of 6 years’ experience.
- Strong experience in the Economic Graduation Approach, including livelihood strengthening, market-based interventions, and financial inclusion.
- In-depth understanding of microfinance, vocational training, small business development, and value chain analysis.
- Proven experience designing, implementing, and managing livelihood and economic recovery programs, particularly in IDP settings.
- Ability to engage with local markets, private sector actors, and financial institutions to enhance economic opportunities for vulnerable populations.
- Experience coordinating multi-sectoral livelihood interventions, including cash transfer programs, entrepreneurship support, and skills development.
