Job Title: Junior Community Health Extension Worker (JCHEW)

Job Summary

The JCHEW will support the mobile medical outreach team in providing essential community and primary health care services. The role focuses on patient triage, health education, assisting with clinical procedures, and community mobilization.

Key Responsibilities

•          Support triage, registration, and vital signs measurement of patients during outreach.

•          Assist CHEWs and nurses in medical consultations and treatment.

•          Support in administering basic medications under supervision.

•          Conduct health talks on hygiene, sanitation, nutrition, and disease prevention.

•          Assist in immunization, nutrition screening, and growth monitoring.

•          Participate in active case finding, referrals, and community mobilization.

•          Keep records of patients seen and services rendered.

•          Maintain hygiene and orderliness of outreach sites and equipment.

Qualifications and Experience

•          Certificate in Junior Community Health Extension (JCHEW) from a recognized school.

•          Valid practicing license from the Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria.

•          At least 1–2 years of relevant experience in a PHC facility or outreach program.

•          Basic understanding of primary health care and community engagement.

•          Fluency in English and local language(s) desirable.
