Médecins Sans Frontières is a private, international organization. MSF provides assistance to populations in distress, victims of natural or man-made disasters, and victims of armed conflict, irrespective of race, religion, creed, or political convictions.
Main Purpose of the Role
To carry out all activities related to the entry of medical data into the mission database according to MSF protocols, maintaining strict confidentiality to ensure reliable and up-to-date information for the medical team.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Entry: Accurately enter medical data (patient details, visit dates, prescriptions, viral loads, etc.) into the mission’s database on a regular basis.
- Data Integrity: Update existing patient files, perform necessary corrections, and participate in the search for missing data.
- Collaboration: Assist in compiling data from both MSF structures and collaborating health facilities.
- Maintenance: Perform regular backups of all processed data and ensure all provided equipment and the recording area are kept clean and tidy.
- Reporting: Elaborate statistical reports as required by the medical team and report any data management issues to supervisors.
- Context-Specific Tasks: Responsible for data encoding in two IDP camps, ICCM sites, and seasonal activities such as “Malaria Test and Treat.”
Minimum Requirements
Education:
- Essential: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or any other relevant degree.
Experience & Skills:
- Technical: Essential computer literacy (MS Word, Excel).
- Software: Ability to learn and use specialized recording software (DHIS2, Fuchsia, EpiInfo, etc.).
- Advantage: Prior experience or acquaintance with DHIS2 is highly desirable.
Languages:
- Local Language: Essential.
- Mission Language (English): Desirable.
Competencies:
- Results-oriented, strong teamwork skills, commitment, flexibility, and a service-oriented mindset.
