We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: IT & Media Officer (Volunteer)

Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Duration: Initial commitment: 3 months (renewable based on performance and funding availability).

Job Details

  • We are seeking a passionate and skilled IT & Media Officer Volunteer to support our organization’s technology and communications needs.
  • This role is ideal for someone who is creative, tech-savvy, and committed to using digital tools to amplify social impact.

Role Summary

  • Reporting directly to the Program Manager, The IT & Media Officer (Volunteer) will provide technical support for IT systems, ensure smooth operations of office technology, and manage the organization’s digital and social media presence.
  • This is a unique opportunity for a motivated individual to gain hands-on IT and communications experience while contributing to a growing nonprofit organization.

Key Responsibilities
IT Support & Systems Management:

  • Provide technical assistance for staff on hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Maintain IT systems, internet connectivity, and office equipment.
  • Support cyber security and data protection practices.
  • Assist with software installation, updates, and IT troubleshooting.
  • Train staff on IT tools and digital best practices.

Media & Communications:

  • Manage HECADF’s social media platforms and online presence.
  • Design graphics, flyers, and multimedia content to promote organizational activities.
  • Support photography, videography, and documentation of field activities.
  • Update and maintain the organization’s website and newsletters.
  • Collaborate with program teams to create compelling content for advocacy and donor engagement.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree, HND, or equivalent in IT, Media, Communications, or a related field.
  • Basic experience in IT support, digital content creation, or media management (volunteer or paid).
  • Strong understanding of computer systems, troubleshooting, and software tools.
  • Skills in photography, videography, or graphic design are an added advantage.
  • Familiarity with social media management, Canva, Photoshop, or similar design tools.
  • Good communication, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow in a nonprofit environment.
