We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Information & Communications Technology (ICT) Specialist

Location: Abuja
Employment Type: Full time (Fixed term)
Reporting line: Reports to the Country Director, NHED
Contract Length: The contract will renewable annually based on satisfactory performance

Job Purpose

  • To develop and oversee the implementation of ICT and social media initiatives in order to support NHED & NPHD strategic objectives.
  • Provide support including coordination to the NHED & NPHD office as well as to the NHED projects on ICT initiatives.
  • Coordinate implementation of ICT development, networking and security standards in the office and coordinate and advise on ICT needs and technical support requirements.
  • Lead the development of ICT policies, strategy and plans.
  • Ensure proper and effective use of ICT in the office.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Leads in the development of ICT and digital strategy, policies and programmes that support the achievement of NHED & NPHD strategic objectives.
  • Support the NHED team in preventing, identifying and fixing ICT problems on their official digital equipment like lap tops, phones, etc as well as on other inhouse digital equipment
  • Provide digital support to NHED at workshops, meetings and seminars&
  • Directs the development of annual ICT & digital work plans and budgets in line with specific programme objectives and ensures expenditure is within budget.
  • Directs the implementation of ICT and digital media plans and programmes and ensures that progress is monitored and evaluated regularly.
  • Maintains a positive organizational image through implementation and ongoing improvement of Corporate Identity (CI) Standards, and guides management on proper application of CI Standards.
  • Leads in providing advice and support to internal and external stakeholders for effective ICT platforms and collaterals.
  • Collaborates with all departments in order to provide effective ICT and social media support for program delivery.
  • Develop, support and promote company goals, including message development, social media content creation and media outreach.
  • Ensures that corporate ICT strategies and plans are correctly implemented and appropriate for situation specific application:
  • Support NHED project states in resolving their office ICT problems including the establishment of preventive mechanisms to minimize ICT problems
  • Analyse corporate ICT strategies and plans and adapt them to fit the NHED operating environment/conditions.
  • Support to establish a stable internet connection in the NHED office and regular update NHED websites with relevant information
  • Collaborate the Communication Specialist in the development and dissemination of NHED communication materials including brand and corporate identity materials
  • Identify target audiences and create strategies to effectively engage them.
  • Ensure digital marketing content aligns with NHED/NPHD brand identity; message and assist with marketing campaigns as needed.
  • Perform other work-related duties as may be assigned.

Requirements
Qualifications:

  • Degree or relevant certifications in ICT or related fields.
  • Master’s degree in related field is an added advantage.
  • Membership of a related professional body.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • 2 years of cognate experience in a post that includes a blend of:
    • Digital communication, advocacy, and ICT
  • Branding/corporate identity development and management
  • Networking, mentoring and capacity building in Communications and ICT for NHED/NPHD staff and stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of digital marketing tactics and email marketing
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to exercise good judgment and solve problems quickly and effectively.
  • Thorough knowledge of overall design and operating principles of ICT systems and of connectivity concepts. Additional experience in various aspects of ICT will be an added advantage.
