Job Title: Humanitarian Access & Safety Officer – Damboa (Nationals Only)

Main Responsibilities: Under the direct supervision of the Base Manager, the Humanitarian Access and Safety Officer in Damboa (HASO) will:
- Develop and follow up on a context analysis mechanism.
- Adapt and implement a safety framework.
- Set up and maintain a network of relations with authorities, other NGOs, and field-level focal points.
- Handle assessment of new areas of intervention, request access authorizations, and report and anticipate security-related events, in accordance with national and MdM internal procedures, under a confidentiality-based approach.
- Have technical links with the Humanitarian Access and Safety Manager (HASM) based in Maiduguri.
Activities Description:
- Security management including daily updates to the Base Manager and Field Coordinator.
- Analyze and report security and contextual data using MDM validated tools.
- Develop security documents and ensure the implementation of the security pack in Damboa.
- Manage security within Damboa base and clinics.
- Conduct ongoing security risk and threat assessments.
- Liaise with authorities and other humanitarian actors to facilitate operations and maintain security.
- Provide briefings and trainings related to safety and security.
- Represent MDM and uphold its secular, independent values in interactions with external parties.
Essential Qualification:
- A university degree in social sciences or related field; certification in security management is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Excellent communication skills in English, Hausa, and Kanuri.
- Experience in complex security environments and knowledgeable in security/safety-related subjects.
