Job Title: Human Resource Assistant / Intern
Location: Abuja
Employment Type: Contract
Job Objectives
- The Human Resource Assistant / Intern will provide essential administrative and operational support to the HR Manager, HR Business Partner, HR coordinator and HR Officer.
- This role is designed to assist in the efficient functioning of the HR department by performing tasks that do not overlap with those of more senior HR roles.
- The Assistant/Intern will focus on clerical duties, initial stages of the recruitment process, data entry, and basic employee support functions, ensuring the smooth operation of the HR team.
Overall Responsibilities
Administrative Support:
- Assist with the day-to-day operations of the HR department.
- Schedule interviews as requested by the HR Team.
- Prepare and maintain HR-related documentation and correspondence.
- Handle general inquiries and provide administrative support to HR projects.
Onboarding and Orientation:
- Support to prepare onboarding materials and orientation packs for new hires.
- Assist in organizing and conducting induction sessions for new employees.
- Ensure new hires complete all necessary paperwork and compliance forms.
Employee Records Management:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personal information, job history, and benefits.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of employee information.
- Assist in maintaining employee files and ensuring data accuracy.
Employee Performance and Benefits Management:
- Track employee start date and probation due date.
- Help track and process payments for Team Members for Life Changing Events and other benefits
- Support the HR Unit in processing payments for eligible employees.
Required Qualifications
- B.Sc in Human Resource Management or a related field
- At least 1 year post-graduation experience in HR or any related field
- Other professional qualifications are desirable
- Understanding of Labor Law and employment equity regulations
- Exposure to payroll practices
- Full understanding of HR functions and best practices
- Highly computer literate with capability in email, MS Office and related business and communication tools.
