Overview of Position
- Working under the overall supervision of the DDRR Project Officer & under the direct supervision of the ICRS Project Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, implementation & monitoring of ICRS field activities & assistance to ICRS beneficiaries.
- The ICRS project activities will be directly supervised by the ICRS Officer as the individual case management component of the DDRR program in Nigeria.
Role Objectives
- Support in the implementation of the ICRS activities in the field locations including beneficiary profiling & data entry as well as work efficiently with the social cohesion platform members & the other relevant partners to implement as necessary.
- Provide relevant information to beneficiaries & receiving communities, counsel beneficiaries on appropriate socio economic opportunities / services & projects, make referrals to partner organizations & opportunities as necessary.
- Identify & report on appropriate, effective & sustainable intervention for targeted population & provide guidance for the implementation of appropriate supports / solutions.
- Conduct family tracing & support beneficiaries & family reunification & follow up to ensure beneficiaries wellbeing are met.
- Conduct sensitization to prepare community for beneficiaries’ reintegration, acceptance & coordinate rapid response interventions to ensure mitigating rejection & stigma.
- Offer mentoring / coaching / monitoring & counselling assistance for business activities & ensure good implementation of approved beneficiaries projects / grants efficiently & effectively & report accordingly.
- Document success stories, lessons learnt & monitor closely each activity, also compiling reports as to whether project & activities are occurring & their impact as well as in coordination with other team members, draft weekly / monthly plans & reports as well as adhoc activity reports when requested.
- Develop & maintain friendly, open & professional communications with beneficiaries, local counterparts, contractors, other agencies & organizations as well as local authorities.
- Represent DDRR program in consultation with the ICRS Officer & or SEC Leader in the field coordination meetings as well as meetings with community counterparts, implementing partners & other relevant stakeholders & ensure maintaining of friendly, open & professional communications.
- Identify cases on MHPSS that require specialized institutional support & coordinate referral as necessary & facilitate nonspecialized psychosocial counselling support for individual beneficiary or family as well as bereavement support as necessary.
- Conduct a service providers mapping exercise & identify local partners for possible cooperation in assisting the target population.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein & / or assigned by the Project Coordinator or the ICRS Project Officer or the ICRS Senior Project Assistant.
Project reporting:
- This role will be working under the overall supervision of the DDRR Project Officer & under the direct supervision of the ICRS Project Officer.
Key Competencies
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics or other relevant Social Sciences or an equivalent combination of education & training.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in income generating / livelihood projects, business development, community economic development, conflict resolution, community participation & / or psychosocial projects, ideally in the humanitarian sector & previous work experience with an international organization will be considered an asset.
- Computer literacy along with excellent interpersonal skills & the ability to work with minimum supervision & ability to travel extensively & work long hours & a drive for results & ability to handle multiple tasks is required.
- Fluency in English & any locally spoken language(s) is required.
- Keeps strict confidentiality when required.

- Meets deadline, cost & quality requirements for outputs.
- Identifies the immediate & peripheral partners of own work.
- Establishes & maintains effective working relationships with partners.
- Identifies & monitors changes in the needs of partners, including donors, governments, vendors & program beneficiaries.

- Understands procurement principles, processes & standards.
Team management:
- This role has no team management responsibility.
