CONTEXT
Médecins Sans Frontières is a private, not-for-profit international humanitarian organization dedicated to providing medical assistance to populations in distress, without discrimination and regardless of race, religion, creed or political affiliation.
MSF has been active in Katsina since February 2021 after carrying an exploratory mission that end up with an opening of the project.
Currently, MSF is running an ITFC (Inpatient Therapeutic Feeding Centre) in Katsina in the Kofar Sauri PHCC and 4 ATFC (Ambulatory Therapeutic Feeding Centre) including three in Jibia LGA (Magama, Daddara, Riko,) and one in Katsina City (Kofar Marusa).
MAIN PURPOSE
Implement Health Promotion/IEC (Information, Education, Communication) activities with patients and local population to raise their knowledge and skills on relevant medical topics.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Inform patients and communities about MSF and the services it provides.
- According to medical priorities, deliver information to the patients and community on specific health topics
- Implement activities of health education and awareness (sessions in schools, churches, community), under the indications and supervision of the HP Supervisor.
- Under the guide of HP Supervisor, assess the impact of activities (with questions, verifications and behaviors observations), and report problems, success and constraints to him/her.
- Collect all types of information related to specific health and living conditions of the population, to identify the most vulnerable populations to target.
- Report to HP Supervisor: activities, problems met, strengths and constraints.
- Keep education and communication areas clean and tidy and professional materials available.
- Participate in the creation of any material needed for the activities of information, education and communication.
- Conduct Daily Health education sessions within the facility in ITFCs
- Collect, review and share data weekly in the data collection tool for action by the direct supervisor/Manager
- Provide Admission kits and other patient social needs where possible in ITFCs
- Conduct Food demonstration, group sessions/sensitization on SGBV/FGI and psycho-social support in the HP simulation area in ITFCs
- Support lab in Blood replacement Donors follow up in ITFCs
- Monitor Patients food Quantity and Quality and share immediate feedback for action.
- Support IPC in Health promotion and Hygiene awareness in the Hospital Environment.
- Conduct Quarterly Patient Satisfactory survey in ITFCs as a way of getting feedback on ITFC services • Provide psycho -social support to caregivers in need in collaboration with other medical staff in ITFCs • Conduct weekly mothers MUAC training at ITFC.
- Collect Data/feedback including challenges, recommendations and submit to the line Manager/Supervisor for action and or decision making.
- Assess the IEC needs in the facility and share with the Supervisor/Line Manager for action.
- Provide the necessary patient support within the health facility including information on the services offered for the patient to make informed decisions especially in cases of admission.
- Conduct orientation for the new admissions and Patients visitors in ITFCs • Support community Blood Drives
- Perform any other responsibility assigned by the Line Manager/Supervisor.

| Experience | Preferable previous experience in teaching, social work, community mobilization (for MSF or any other NGO at least two years). |
| Languages | Local language essential, mission language highly desirable |

CONTRACT: OPEN ENDED CONCTRACT
208 working hours per month.
REMUNERATION
According to MSF salary scale plus 13th month allowance equivalent to 1 month of gross salary.
