Job Title: Head of Finance
Location: Lagos

Summary
- We are seeking a Head of Finance to lead and manage its financial operations.
- The ideal candidate will play a critical role in strengthening the organisation’s financial systems, supporting decision-making, and ensuring sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead annual budgeting and mid-year re-forecasting; review and monitor all financial plans monthly.
- Develop short, medium, and long-term financial projections aligned with organisational goals.
- Partner with the CEO and Board Finance Sub-Committee on strategic and development planning.
- Provide financial recommendations to the executive team based on analysis of costs, revenues, and trends.
- Oversee preparation of timely and accurate financial reports and statements for internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide analysis and deliver insight that links financial reports to the organisational goals and strategies.
- Manage cash flow, forecasting, and departmental accounting.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Supervise tax returns, audits, and grant reporting obligations.
- Review and update accounting policies, manuals, and investment strategies.
- Stay current with nonprofit finance best practices and relevant laws.
- Manage, mentor, and develop finance team members.
- Work with cross-functional leaders to align finance, HR, IT, and operations with organizational strategy.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; a post-graduate degree will be highly preferred
- 5 – 7 years of relevant work experience as a middle to senior-level professional; overall, at least 10 years of experience in finance and accounting
- Experience in a nonprofit organisation is an advantage
- Membership of recognised professional accounting organisations (ICAN or ACCA)
- Working knowledge of GAAP audits and other regulatory requirements in the financial field
- Expert technology skills, including MS Office (advanced proficiency in Excel), and working knowledge of Zoho, Xero, QuickBooks and other popular software.
- Demonstrated success in a fast-paced environment, especially working as a self-starter and/ or transformer
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
