We are a fast-growing non-profit transitioning from a start-up to a scale-up, currently managing 280 Lafiya Sisters across four states and having supported more than 300,000 women to date. You will be the vital link between our field teams and our global partners, crafting persuasive proposals, delivering high-quality donor reports, and ensuring our fundraising operations run smoothly. If you thrive on storytelling, curiosity, and connecting data with human impact, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

I. Proposal Development & Messaging

  • Craft and adapt concept notes and funding proposals tailored to the specific interests and priorities of diverse institutional and private donors.
  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Growth to define Lafiya’s core fundraising message and narrative across all external materials.
  • Source compelling content, including key insights, photography, and community stories, from field teams to bring impact to life in proposals.
  • Manage and track proposal timelines, ensuring timely submission and follow-up communication.

II. Reporting & Communications

  • Write high-quality, compelling donor reports by coordinating the collection of accurate and insightful data from Programmes, Operations, and Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning teams.
  • Organise and edit communications materials, making them easily accessible for immediate reporting and communication needs.

III. Fundraising Systems & Research

  • Maintain accurate and organised records of grants, contracts, and essential donor information.
  • Conduct targeted research on new funding opportunities, emerging prospects, and sector trends to strategically strengthen Lafiya’s pipeline.

IV. Partnerships

  • Build and maintain relationships with aligned organisations and networks to identify and pursue opportunities for collaboration.
  • Co-create concept notes and proposals for joint funding submissions with identified strategic partners.
  • Ensure all partnership discussions are meticulously tracked and documented, guaranteeing smooth follow-up and next steps.

Who You Are: The Ideal Candidate

You are a natural writer and storyteller. You possess a unique ability to articulate a complex vision into a compelling narrative, tailoring your message persuasively to stakeholders with vastly different goals. You challenge the status quo, brainstorm creative ideas, and have a meticulous eye for detail.

  • A Creative Communicator: You can comfortably and persuasively communicate complex messages. You may even have a creative craft (e.g., creative writing, graphic design, photography) that demonstrates your eye for visual presentation.
  • Driven and Independent: You are proactive and self-motivated, capable of working independently and ensuring rigorous follow-through on all initiatives. You have demonstrated drive, determination, and grit through launching and completing an independent project.
  • Quantitatively Astute: You possess a quantitative aptitude and can translate raw data into clear, impactful visuals and findings.
  • Connected to the Mission: You believe deeply in expanding access to reproductive health and can speak about Lafiya’s work authentically and professionally.
  • Skills: Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in English are essential.
