The Finance and Admin Officer at the Children Against Torture and Crime Foundation will be responsible for managing the financial and administrative functions of the organization. This role involves budgeting, financial reporting, office management, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. The Finance and Admin Officer will work closely with the Executive Director/CEO and program managers to support the foundation\’s mission and goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the organization\’s budget in collaboration with the Executive Director/CEO.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Develop annual budgets and financial forecasts in consultation with program managers and senior leadership.
- Monitor budget performance and provide regular updates to the Executive Director/CEO and the board of directors.
- Identify and address variances between actual and budgeted financial performance.
Grant Management:
- Assist in the preparation of grant proposals and budgets.
- Monitor grant expenditures to ensure compliance with funding requirements.
- Prepare and submit financial reports to donors and funding agencies as required.
Administrative Support:
- Oversee office management functions, including procurement, inventory, and maintenance of office equipment and supplies.
- Manage administrative staff and ensure efficient office operations.
- Maintain accurate and organized records, including personnel files, contracts, and organizational documents.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational policies and procedures.
- Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls to safeguard the organization\’s assets.
- Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks.
Human Resources:
- Support HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, and employee benefits administration.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel records.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
Collaboration & Teamwork:
- Work closely with program managers to align financial and administrative support with program needs and priorities.
- Collaborate with the fundraising team to support financial aspects of fundraising campaigns and donor reporting.
- Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the organization\’s overall strategic planning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor\’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in financial management and administration, preferably within a nonprofit organization.
- Strong understanding of financial management principles, budgeting, and accounting practices.
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for the mission and values of the Children Against Torture and Crime Foundation.
