The Nigerian Society of Engineers is the umbrella organization for the Engineering Profession in Nigeria. The Society looks after the professional needs of members through well structured programmes and regular interactions among the different cadre of membership, enhancing high professional standard and ethical practices. The Organisation was Founded on 16th February, 1958 major challenge by a group of young Nigerian graduate engineers and students in the UK, the Society was inaugurated at the Nigerian House in London. The NSE is registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission as a company Limited by guarantee. It was incorporated as a Company limited by guarantee and not having a share capital in 1967. The original Memorandum and Articles of Association were amended on 1st December 1998. Like some of its counterparts in other professions, the Society has distinguished itself through progressive and imaginative programmes to become the avenue for the professional development of its members as well as technological development of the country.
We are recruiting:
Position: Facility Manager
Location: Abuja
Responsibilities
- Overseeing the maintenance of all facilities and equipment within the Secretariat complex
- Handling emergencies and unplanned incidents, such as repairs and safety issues.
- Monitoring expenses and controlling costs related to facility management.
- Monitoring energy usage and implementing energy-saving measures
- Conducting regular safety inspections and drills, in conjunction with the HSE Manager.
- Communicating policies, procedures and important updates related to facility management.
- Identifying opportunities for cost-saving and efficiency improvements.
- Other assigned responsibilities.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Corporate Membership of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE)
- Registration with COREN (Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria)
- A Master’s Degree in Engineering or MBA will be an added advantage
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years post-graduation work experience in engineering or the built environment
- At least 3 of the 10 years should be in a Facility Management position
Competencies:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Budgeting and financial management expertise
- Knowledge of facility management software and systems
- Leadership and team management skills
- Ability to endure unpredictable environmental conditions at the work place (such as varying temperature, humidity, etc.)
- Development and mastery of facility inspections and site visits strategies.
