The Centre for Social Cohesion, Peace and Empowerment (CENSCOPE) is a non-profit organization that focuses on promoting the ideals of self-sustainability, equality and social justice to the members of the society, it was founded in the year 2014 out of the need to give succor and support to the victim of arm conflict and natural disasters in Nigeria.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Eore Instructor

Location: Borno
Employment Type: Full Time

Key Responsibilities 

  • Assess victims of explosive ordnance needs and develop support through referrals
  • Provide emotional support and basic psychosocial counseling
  • Refer victims to appropriate service provide (e.g., medical, socio-economic, shelter, livelihood etc) and ensure follow-ups
  • Conduct intake interviews and maintain accurate, confidential case files
  • Follow up with clients to ensure continuity and effectiveness of support
  • Document cases and prepare regular progress and incident reports
  • Establish and maintain liaison with the community structures
  • Keep records of daily, weekly, and monthly activities
  • Represent CENSCOPE in LGA coordination meetings
  • Performs anyone other task as maybe assigned by the supervising authority.

Requirements

  • University education or equivalent in Nursing, medical or related fields.
  • Previous experience in humanitarian work
  • Fluency in Kanuri, Hausa and other local language
  • Previous experience in carrying out awareness or community-based activities
  • Relevant experience in community-based facilitation and community mobilization.
  • Experience working with rural communities from a variety of different ethnic groups.
  • Demonstrated understanding of humanitarian principles and practices
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with minimum supervision
  • Strong work ethic and capacity to take responsibility for his/her own actions
  • Be able to work under pressure
  • Confidentiality, integrity, and a sense of conflict-of-interest prevention.
  • Self-motivation, courtesy, and humility
  • Capacity to work in multicultural environments.

Key Skills:

  • Demonstrate competency in using Microsoft Office Package
  • Excellent presentation and writing skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Good command of the English language (written and oral) and ability to interact in local languages: Hausa and Kanuri
  • Proven work experience in multicultural environments
  • Ability to adapt to working conditions and tasks that may change with the reality of the field
