Driver & Logistics Support Personnel at International Rescue Mission in Adamawa & Borno

International Rescue Mission (IRM) is a registered non-profit organization with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in accordance with the Nigerian Law in 2022. The organization was established with the sole aim and objective to promote social service through community development and Education projects that ensure meaningful access to services for people in need. The organization also aims to build the strength of vulnerable populations, especially women and children, to create a safe space for them to feel safe and free from all forms of harm.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Driver & Logistics Support Personnel

Locations: Maiduguri – Borno and Yola, Mubi – Adamawa
Employment Type: Contract

Responsibilities

  • Transport IRM staff, visitors, documents and goods/materials to designated destinations when officially approved
  • Ensure the safety and security of the passengers, the goods and the vehicle
  • Immediately report accidents, breakdowns and needs for repair and general maintenance/service
  • Respect the local traffic regulations and the IRM logistical, drivers and vehicle policies at all times
  • Maintain the logbook for all trips
  • Maintain the vehicle in proper operating condition at all times, including keeping the vehicle clean, ensuring enough fuel, checking the technical state, etc.
  • In liaison with the line manager/direct supervisor, arrange for repairs and servicing
  • Ensure the assigned vehicle has all the necessary documents and equipment
  • Provide logistical support during training and workshops.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Experience from working as a driver in a humanitarian/recovery context
  • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
  • Fluency in English and local languages
  • Geographical area knowledge

Salary
N270,000 – N350,000 Monthly.
