Job Overview:

As a Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting IOM staff, goods, and other authorized personnel to designated locations. You will ensure the vehicle’s maintenance and readiness for safe operation, perform minor repairs when necessary, and maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality while performing duties. Key Responsibilities:

Your main duties will include:

  • Transporting IOM Staff and Goods: Drive IOM vehicles to transport personnel and materials in a timely, safe, and efficient manner.

  • Vehicle Maintenance: Perform regular checks of the vehicle, including tires, brakes, engine oil, and other essential parts. Arrange minor repairs and ensure the vehicle is cleaned and maintained.

  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records related to vehicle usage, such as mileage, fuel consumption, and spare parts inventory.

  • Security and Safety: Take steps to ensure the safety and security of IOM personnel, property, and the vehicle while on duty.

  • Facilitate Logistics: Meet IOM officials at airports and help with immigration and customs procedures.

  • Clerical Assistance: Assist the office staff with basic administrative tasks like making phone calls, photocopying, and record-keeping when required.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School Degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant driving experience, or

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.

  • A valid national driver’s license.

Experience:

  • Knowledge of driving rules and regulations.

  • Experience in operating various types of vehicles, with skills in minor vehicle repairs.

  • Familiarity with radio, email, telephone, and basic office applications.

Skills:

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and tight deadlines.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • A commitment to maintaining integrity and confidentiality.

  • Ability to adapt to a multicultural work environment.

Languages:

  • Fluency in English (both oral and written) is required.

  • Proficiency in IOM’s official languages (English, French, Spanish) will be evaluated.
