Position: Daily Worker Cook
Location: Sokoto State, Nigeria

Main Purpose of the Role
The Cook is responsible for preparing meals for MSF staff according to hygiene and safety standards, ensuring nutritional needs are met and maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen facilities.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare meals for staff as required.

Always follow hygiene and safety standards in food preparation.

Monitor food stock levels, make requests in advance, and prepare shopping lists when needed.

Ensure meals are served on time.

Set tables before meals and clean up afterward if necessary.

Keep kitchen facilities, utensils, and equipment clean.

Ensure constant supply of safe drinking water, including cleaning and refilling filters or bottles.

Take good care of all kitchen equipment and utensils.

Maintain an inventory of kitchen tools (plates, cutlery, cookware, etc.) and ensure they remain in good condition.

Report any incidents such as loss, theft, or damage to the supervisor.
Requirements

Education: Literacy is essential; formal cooking training is an added advantage.

Experience: Previous cooking experience is desirable.

Languages: Local languages essential; English (mission language) desirable.

Competencies: Commitment, flexibility, stress management, teamwork, results orientation, and service-mindedness.
