Consultant (Routine Veterinary Services) Future Resilience and Development Foundation
Future Resilience and Development Foundation (FRAD) is a registered non-profit organization with the corporate affairs commission, in accordance with the Nigerian Law, FRAD work in both humanitarian and development sector to build the resilience of Vulnerable populations through our interventions in thematic areas of WASH, Nutrition, Protection, Education and early recovery and livelihood. Over the years, FRAD has reached more than 19,000 children, men, women and girls through its various interventions.
FRAD work with the Mission to build the Resilience of vulnerable populations using locally available solutions that ensure participation and bring meaningful development, leaving no one behind. Our Mission and Vision guides our programming to ensure no one is left behind.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Consultant (Routine Verteinary Services)
Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Duration: 6 months, with scheduled monthly visits and emergency response availability.
Objective
- To provide continuous veterinary support, disease prevention, and improved breeding services to enhance livestock health and dairy productivity throughout the project lifespan.
Scope of Work
Routine Veterinary Services this includes:
- Vaccination campaigns, deworming, and treatment
- Vector control and disease prevention
- Maintenance of animal health records.
Artificial Insemination (AI) & Breeding Support
- Provide AI services in collaboration with the Borno State AI Centre
- Monitor pregnancy outcomes and calf health.
Disease Surveillance:
- Conduct periodic disease surveillance and early warning assessments
- Report outbreaks and recommend mitigation measures.
Farmer Advisory Services:
- Provide guidance on feeding, housing, and herd management
- Promote preventive health practices
- Supervised collection dong.
Deliverables
- Monthly veterinary service reports
- Vaccination and treatment logs
- AI service records and breeding performance reports
- Outbreak alerts and recommendations.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in livestock health management, pastoralist and Agro‑pastoralist communities.
- Registration with relevant veterinary bodies.
