Community Health Educator at Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) – Belgium

We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Community Health Educator
Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Employment Type: Contract
Responsibilities
- Strengthening the link between the community and MSF programs and activities
- Promote MSF ICCM services through mobilization, referrals and strengthening linkage to care
- Conduct home visit/follow up of referrals from ICCM, ATFC and ITFC Support defaulter tracing (nutrition, vaccination, ANC) Assist in community mapping
- Conduct daily health education sessions in the selected communities about MSF and different medical thematics with the target population
- Organize and conduct routine meeting/capacity building sessions with the community leaders, community key people like e.g TBAs, youth and women group etc. in the target communities in collaboration with HP supervisor
- Establish and maintain strong relationship with the communities where MSF operates
- Participant in celebrating of specific health days in the communities.
- Participant in community-based surveillance during outbreaks
- Participate in mass vaccination and other seasonal outreach activities and campaigns
- Screening children for malnutrition in the community and referring them to the nearest OTPs in the catchment communities
- Report to line manager of any constrain and results of activities on a regular basis.
- Collect community concerns, rumors, and feedback Support Community Feedback Mechanisms and Share feedback with MSF teams for program adaptation
- Support the HP activities of ATFC/ITFC/SRH whenever need arises
Requirements
- Interested candidates should possess relevant an OND, BEd, or HND qualification with at least 2 years of experience.
