Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF) Spain is seeking dedicated individuals to join our Cleaner Talent Pool based in Abuja, Nigeria. This essential Level 1 role supports our humanitarian mission by ensuring that all MSF offices and residences are maintained to the highest hygiene standards.

MSF has a 20-year history of providing critical, independent medical assistance in Nigeria. The Cleaner role is fundamental to the health and well-being of our teams, making you a vital part of our life-saving operations.

The Role: Cleaner (Talent Pool) – Abuja

This recruitment aims to build a Talent Pool of qualified candidates who can be quickly engaged on fixed-term contracts (starting with 6 months) as operational needs require within the Abuja mission.

The Cleaner is responsible for performing general housekeeping and cleaning duties to ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained working and living environment for all staff.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Housekeeping & Cleaning: Thoroughly cleaning all rooms in MSF houses and offices, including bedrooms, bathrooms, toilets, and common areas.
  • Laundry & Ironing: Performing all required laundry and ironing duties for the staff.
  • Kitchen Support: Assisting the cook with tasks such as washing up and ensuring the kitchen area is clean and sanitized.
  • Supply Management: Restocking essential supplies (toilet paper, soap, etc.) and ensuring drinking water is refilled.
  • Maintenance & Security: Monitoring water supply during cuts and ensuring premises are properly secured (doors and windows locked).

Essential Requirements

While this is an entry-level position (Level 1), MSF seeks candidates who are reliable, committed to quality, and ready to uphold the organization’s principles.

Category Requirement Details
Education Literacy is essential. Secondary education is desirable.
Experience Work experience as a Cleaner with MSF or other NGOs is desirable, but not mandatory.
Language Proficiency in English and Hausa (both written and spoken) is essential.
Contract Fix-term contract starting with 6 months, Level 1. 208 working hours per month.
