Wadata Relief Care Initiative (WRCI) is a non-governmental, non-profit, non-political, and humanitarian and developmental organization established in 2018 and formally registered in 2023. We strive for a just world that advances children’s rights and equality for girls and young people in Nigeria through the promotion of equitable governance and human rights.

Under the Hedayah-STRIVE Global Programme Phase II, WRCI is implementing a project in Bakori A and Bakori B communities aimed at strengthening community resilience against extremism and violent extremism through prevention, rehabilitation, and reintegration of women and youth.

We are seeking to recruit qualified and dedicated Enumerators to conduct data collection and assessment activities vital for informed project implementation and monitoring

Objective of the Engagement

The primary objective of engaging Enumerators is to collect accurate, reliable, and timely data to:

  • Establish baseline information on community vulnerabilities and resilience factors.
  • Inform project design, implementation strategies, and monitoring frameworks.
  • Support evidence-based decision-making for interventions aimed at preventing and countering violent extremism.

Scope of Work

Under the direct supervision of the WRCI Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer, the Enumerator will be responsible for:

  • Conducting household and community-level surveys using structured questionnaires.
  • Collecting quantitative and qualitative data on community resilience, vulnerabilities, and socio-economic indicators.
  • Properly utilizing data collection tools (tablets and software) as requested and for the scope explained during training.
  • Administering interviews with key informants and focus groups where applicable.
  • Adhering strictly to WRCI’s Data Protection Principles, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality.
  • Submitting daily progress reports and completed data sets to the supervisor.
  • Participating actively in mandatory training sessions prior to deployment.
  • Performing other duties as assigned and deemed necessary by the supervisor.

Methodology and Requirements

The data collection process will follow a participatory and ethical approach. Enumerators will be employed using a combination of methodologies to gather data, including:

  • Training: Comprehensive orientation on tools, ethics, and security protocols.
  • Digital Data Collection: Use of mobile-based platforms (e.g., KoboToolbox, ODK) for real-time data capture.
  • Sampling: Household and community respondents will be selected based on agreed sampling criteria.
  • Quality Assurance: Daily review of submitted data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Reporting: Enumerators will provide daily updates and flag challenges for immediate resolution.

Essential Requirement: Enumerator must possess a working smartphone which they can use to collect data in case WRCI-provided gadgets are unavailable.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Minimum of National Diploma (ND) or equivalent. A degree in Social Sciences or a related field is an advantage.
  • Experience: Previous experience in data collection, surveys, or assessments.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with digital data collection tools (Kobo, ODK, SurveyCTO).
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Language: Fluency in Hausa and English (spoken and written) is mandatory.
  • Preference: Resident of Bakori LGA or surrounding areas preferred.

Remuneration Note

Enumerators will be engaged under a daily consultant contract, where payment and other remuneration will depend on the number of days actively worked.

  • Enumerators may be offered a three-month or six-month contract with a prescribed number of days allocated for work.
  • This arrangement is designed to ensure speedy response and flexibility by removing lengthy preparatory procedures such as contract renewal processes.
  • Important Note: This should not be mistaken as a continuous period of engagement. Workdays will be determined based on project needs, and enumerators will be paid only for the days they are actively engaged in WRCI activities.
