Albertiqs Extra Helping Hand Foundation (AEHHF) is a non-profit organization primarily focused on girl-child education and development. Our mission is to ensure that every girl has access to quality education, mentorship, and the opportunity to reach her full potential. We carry out school visits, advocacy programs, and community outreach aimed at supporting teenage mothers, promoting literacy, and keeping girls in school. While the girl child remains our main focus, we also engage in women empowerment initiatives that help strengthen families and communities.

Job Title: Business Development Advisor

Summary
- The Business Development Advisor (BDA) leads AEHHF’s fundraising and strategy, identifying and securing high-value grants from donors to ensure sustainable programs.
- Reporting to the CEO, this role develops proposals, manages donor relations, and strengthens capacity to empower women and children in Imo/Lagos, Nigeria.
Job Description
Business Development Advisor (BDA) – Duties and Requirements:
- The Business Development Advisor is responsible for a full lifecycle of fundraising, strategy, capacity building, and donor relationship management to ensure the financial sustainability of the Albertiqs Extra Helping Hands Foundation (AEHHF)
Core Job Purpose:
- The BDA will develop and implement a business development and fundraising strategy and professionalize efforts to seek out funding opportunities, develop proposals, and successfully close funding through governmental and multilateral funders and partners
Key Accountabilities and Duties
Area Duties and ResponsibilitiesStrategy and Resource Mobilization:
- Develop and implement AEHHF’s business development and fundraising strategy and processes
- Research and analyze changing donor strategies and advise on effective influencing of donors.
- Identify, pursue, and successfully capitalize on funding opportunities among major bilateral and multilateral donors.
- Research, analyze, and maintain a regular register of donor calls for funding applications (including tenders, expressions of interest, and RFPs).
- Produce regular reports for Country leadership on business development performance analysis.
- Advise on potential partnerships with other organizations and agencies.
Programme and Bid Development:
- Lead the development and writing of successful funding proposals and budgets.
- Organize pre-proposal strategy sessions (e.g., win themes, SWOTs, partnering assessments).
- Provide guidance on developing proactive concepts, converting ideas into sellable proposals.
- Track calls for proposals and tenders and determine when/whether to respond.
- Provide leadership in the development of concept notes and long-term quality proposals seeking multi-year funding.
Donor and Partner Relationship Management:
- Ensure quality, consistency, and continuity in AEHHF’s approach with donors.
- Develop good relationships with key potential donors in Nigeria and pro-actively identify funding potentials.
- Represent AEHHF as required with donors.
- Monitor regulatory revisions, proposal guidelines, and application requirements for priority donors.
- Provide quality control on all donor solicitations, reports, and communications.
Capacity Building & Grant Management:
- Strengthen the capacity of colleagues (Programme, Business Support, and partners) through formal training, coaching, and accompaniment in planning, securing, and managing donor funds.
- Support quality contract management, including donor reporting, in collaboration with AEHHF colleagues.
- Ensure donor-reporting schedules are distributed to ensure timely and high-quality report management.
Essential Technical Skills and Experience Required
- Candidates must have a minimum of five (5) years of work experience in development cooperation, preferably with INGOs
- Track Record: Successful track record of securing multiple high-value projects/contracts from bilateral and multilateral donors, trusts, and foundations
- Proposal Experience: Three (3) years of experience raising funds and preparing project proposals for international organizations, foundations, private corporate organizations, and UN Agencies.
- Soft Skills: High level of analytical skills, critical thinking, good communication and facilitation skills, and the ability to network and represent AEHHF.
- Functional Expertise: Experience with Project Cycle Management (Planning, implementation, monitoring, reporting, evaluation, and learning).
- Professional Traits: Must be self-motivated, target-driven, and possess an entrepreneurial approach to fundraising opportunities.
