Première Urgence Internationale (PUI) Première Urgence Internationale (PUI) is a non-governmental, non-profit, non-political and non-religious international aid organization. Our teams are committed to supporting civilians’ victims of marginalization and exclusion, or those hit by natural disasters, wars and economic collapses, by answering their fundamental needs. Our aim is to provide emergency relief to uprooted people to help them recover their dignity and regain self-sufficiency. PUI has been operating in Nigeria since 2016, initially establishing its presence in Borno State with a field office in Maiduguri. Over the years, PUI has expanded its humanitarian response to deep-field locations, including Monguno and Pulka, and more recently to Katsina State in Northwest Nigeria.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Livelihood Officer
Location: Katsina
Employment Type: Full-time
General Objective
- Under the direct supervision of the Livelihood Supervisor, the Livelihood Officer is responsible for the daily implementation of the FSL Programming in Katsina State.
Responsibilities and Tasks
implementation and Mointoring of the FSL Activities:
- Assist in sensitization of local government structures, communities, and traditional authorities on the targeting criteria and identification and registration of the beneficiaries.
- Help oversee the delivery of regular Livelihood activities and help ensure the resolution of any problems within the community.
- Assist in training of Premiere Urgence Internationale CBTs Monitors on Livelihood programming.
- Actively participate in relevant field assessments to identify the beneficiaries’ needs and viable business opportunities, ensuring assessment findings are documented and that all assessments include a specific analysis of community needs
- Organize the training of the Livelihoods beneficiaries on the identified IGAs
- Conduct the implementation and monitoring of all activities, at the field level, as laid out in the Detail Implementation Plan (DIP).
- Assist in the registration of targeted Households, ensuring that the data is collected and is recorded appropriately
- Coordinate activities with local authorities, community members, other implementing actors and partners at the local level.
- Compile and submit regular project reports and updates Integrate community approaches, protection mainstreaming, gender sensitivity and capacity building into all activities as appropriate.
- Coordinate with MEAL team to map, identify and Monitor program participants on the various IGAs.
- Lead in the selection and registration of beneficiaries with support from MEAL Team.
- Conduct the sensitization of beneficiaries on program activities and objectives.
- Conduct market assessment to ascertain the most profitable skills/IGAs in the intervention locations.
- Coordinate post distribution monitoring with MEAL team.
- Identify emerging issues related to the IGAs and make recommendation for further solution.
- Conduct vulnerability mapping with community representatives to identify the most vulnerable new arrival IDP in communities of implementation
- Monitor the viable income generating activities (IGAs) programs, to allow families to be able to cover their basic needs
Reporting and Monitoring:
- Report on the progress of specific tasks assigned, problems encountered, actions taken as well as the quality of relations with beneficiaries
- Submit the daily task and weekly situational report to his/her line manager on daily and weekly basis respectively
- Collect any relevant information from the communities and partners, and reports to his/her supervisor
- Collect, enter and compute simple analysis of the necessary FSL data when needed
- Extract and pass on statistics on l FSL activities to his/her line manager
- Contribute to the capitalization of best practices on FSL activities
- Keep monitoring tools and files archived at the PUI office, ensuring their availability to his/her line manager
- Pass on any information or problems to his/her direct and/or indirect supervisor concerning his/her task, PUI programs, or safety aspects
Logistic and Administration:
- Support the logistical and administrative organization, planning, and preparation as directed by the supervisor
- Ensure the proper use of materials and tools during on-site works (phones and other devices)
- Manage the supply of materials to the work site in collaboration with her/his Line Manager and Logistic Department
Overall Objectives

- Ensure the effective and efficient use of all Premiere Urgence Internationale resources to keep costs low and ensure safety in the workplace

- Provide team members with information, tools, and other resources to improve performance and reach objectives.

- Identify any gaps or capacity needs within the team and ensure training and capacity building are incorporated into program planning.
- The tasks and responsibilities defined in this job description are non-exhaustive and can evolve depending on the project’s needs.
Requirements
- Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree with 2 – 5 years of experience.
Salary
N472,044 per month.
