Job Overview
Are you an expert in procurement and logistics, especially in the healthcare sector? Sightsavers Nigeria is hiring a Procurement & Logistics Officer to manage the smooth supply of medical and office-related items. Key Responsibilities
As a Procurement & Logistics Officer, you will:
- Support programme teams in identifying procurement needs and sourcing strategies.
- Order and manage delivery of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, chemicals, and consumables.
- Ensure proper documentation, supplier vetting, and due diligence.
- Liaise with vendors and coordinate logistics for timely deliveries.
- Follow Nigeria’s import regulations and international Good Distribution Practices (GDP).
- Maintain accurate procurement records and prepare audit-ready reports.
- Assist in creating internal policies to improve procurement processes.
What You Need to Succeed
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience in procurement and logistics, especially with pharmaceuticals and diagnostics.
- Knowledge of supply chain management, sourcing, and vendor relations.
- Ability to travel to project sites in Nigeria (quarterly).
- Familiarity with Nigeria’s importation laws and procedures.
Desirable Skills (Nice to Have):
- Experience in humanitarian or international development logistics.
- Understanding of Good Distribution Practices (GDP) in pharmaceutical supply.
