1. The Core Focus: Advocacy and Digital Engagement
As Content Officer, you are the voice of MANI. Your purpose is to create, improve, and maintain engaging content that elevates the organization’s image and drives awareness.
Key Duties:
- Content Creation: Develop and edit engaging mental health content for diverse platforms.
- Platform Management: Manage content across digital platforms, including our website and social media channels.
- Campaign Strategy: Coordinate and execute social media campaigns, leveraging analytics to ensure effectiveness and audience engagement.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the team to ensure a cohesive content strategy that aligns with MANI’s youth-focused goals.
2. Professional & Safeguarding Requirements
Candidates must demonstrate professional competence in content creation alongside a deep commitment to the ethical standards of mental health advocacy.
Required Skills and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Communication or a related field.
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Content Officer or in a similar role. Experience in the non-profit or advocacy sector is highly preferred.
- Digital Fluency: Excellent knowledge of content creation, effective use of various social media platforms, and proficiency with analytic tools.
- Mental Health Understanding: A strong understanding of mental health issues, advocacy principles, and related terminologies is essential.
- Software: Must be computer literate (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, WordPress).
Critical Safeguarding Responsibility
A central part of this role is ensuring all content promotes a culture of safeguarding. This means:
- All online interactions must be respectful and safe.
- All content must protect the dignity and privacy of individuals, particularly those with lived experience of mental health conditions.
