MAIN PURPOSE

The Construction Supervisor is responsible for supervising and monitoring the implementation of daily building and rehabilitation activities in the project. You will ensure that all works align with MSF standards, protocols, and procedures to maintain the efficient running of our humanitarian operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Project Supervision: Monitor day-to-day building and rehabilitation activities, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, budgets, and deadlines.
  • Needs Analysis: Analyze construction requirements according to MSF programs and report to line managers to provide efficient technical and financial solutions.
  • Liaison & Negotiation: Negotiate permissions and agreements with local authorities to ensure all required documentation is secured and delays are avoided.
  • Tender Management: Organize and supervise calls for tenders (architects, construction companies) to ensure the best technical and financial conditions.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise the logistics/construction team, including defining tasks, drawing up schedules, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Reporting: Provide monthly activity reports and ensure all documentation, including inspection reports, is accurately maintained.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: Degree in Construction or Engineering is essential.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a construction engineer or in a related role is essential.
  • Languages: Proficiency in English and Hausa is essential.
  • Technical Skills: Computer literacy and proficiency in AutoCAD are essential.
  • Competencies: Commitment to MSF Principles, Behavioral Flexibility, Results and Quality Orientation, Teamwork, and Stress Management.
