Job Title: Volunteer Research Assistant

Location: Lagos

Role Summary

  • As a Research Assistant Volunteer, you will contribute to ERA’s research efforts by assisting with data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • You will support ongoing projects aimed at improving emergency response systems and public health solutions.
  • This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience, develop skills in data analysis, and contribute to a meaningful cause.
  • The position is fully remote, allowing for a flexible work schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in collecting and analyzing data related to health emergencies, response times, and the effectiveness of emergency medical services.
  • Support the development and execution of research projects related to public health and emergency response solutions.
  • Collaborate with the research team to prepare reports, summaries, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of data, conducting quality control checks and validation.
  • Maintain organized records of data and research materials.
  • Assist in the preparation of research papers, publications, and other documents.
  • Stay informed on the latest developments in public health and emergency response trends to enhance research relevance.

Qualifications

  • Fresh Graduate with a Degree in Public Health, Medical Sciences, or a related field.
  • Second Class Upper (2:1) or First Class degree preferred.
  • Strong interest in research, particularly in the public health or emergency response sector.
  • Basic experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SPSS, R, or similar tools).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle large datasets.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to learn.
