Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF) Spain is looking for a highly skilled and organized Finance Assistant to join our Talent Pool in Abuja, Nigeria. This is a critical Level 06 position responsible for ensuring financial rigor, compliance, and control that underpin all our field operations.

The Role: Finance Assistant (Talent Pool) – Abuja
This role is for our Talent Pool, offering a fixed-term contract (starting with 6 months) for candidates who meet the high standards required for this administrative and accounting function. The Finance Assistant performs essential tasks to maintain legal compliance, accurate financial records, and effective cash management.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Financial Control: Executing administrative and finance tasks under the Accounting Manager’s supervision to ensure accuracy and compliance with MSF procedures.
- Treasury Management: Strict adherence to cash and bank transfer procedures, assisting in the preparation of monthly treasury forecasts, and managing petty cash replenishment.
- Payments & Suppliers: Processing all supplier payments, ensuring proper supporting documentation, and maintaining strict control over all related financial documents.
- Accounting & Reporting: Accurately entering all accounting data into the software, ensuring timely closure of monthly accounts, and participating in the preparation of required finance reports (e.g., the monthly Finance SITREP).
- Compliance: Ensuring timely payment of all statutory contributions and taxes, and monitoring rental contract expiry dates.
Essential Requirements
Given the responsibility of this role, candidates must demonstrate a high level of academic and professional qualification:

| Education | Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with specialization in Economic, Management, Accounting, or Finance is mandatory. |
| Experience | Minimum of two years of working experience in administration or finance with MSF or any other INGO is required. |
| Knowledge | Must demonstrate a moderate understanding of Local Tax Law. |
| IT Skills | Must be computer literate with strong command of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Internet). |
| Language | Must be fluent in English and Hausa (written and spoken). Understanding of languages spoken in Borno State is an advantage. |
