Job Title:   Mobile Medical Outreach Coordinator

Section: Health

Duration: 6 Months

Duty Station: Adamawa state (Madagali)

Reports to:  Project Manager

Start Date: IMMEDIATELY

 Job Purpose

The Mobile Medical Outreach Coordinator will lead, plan, and oversee the implementation of mobile medical outreach activities under the NHF Health Project. The position ensures that essential primary health care, disease prevention, maternal and child health, and outbreak response services reach vulnerable and underserved populations affected by humanitarian crises in target communities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Program Coordination and Implementation

•          Plan, organize, and coordinate all mobile medical outreach activities in line with Health Project objectives and approved work plans

•          Conduct regular assessments and identify underserved communities requiring outreach interventions.

•          Ensure mobile teams provide quality integrated health services including PHC, maternal and newborn care, nutrition screening, immunization, and health education.

•          Coordinate with local health authorities (SPHCDA, LGA PHC departments) and other humanitarian partners to avoid duplication and ensure synergy.

•          Monitor medical supply chain management, ensuring timely availability and accountability of drugs, medical consumables, and outreach kits.

2. Technical Support and Quality Assurance

•          Provide technical guidance and supervision to mobile health teams to ensure adherence to national and WHO health service delivery standards.

•          Support health staff to strengthen disease surveillance and timely reporting of epidemic-prone diseases.

•          Facilitate on-the-job training, mentorship, and performance evaluation of outreach health workers.

•          Promote infection prevention and control (IPC) and rational drug use during outreach activities.

3. Data Management, Monitoring, and Reporting

•          Ensure timely and accurate collection of health data from mobile outreach sites.

•          Work closely with the M&E Officer to analyze outreach performance indicators and trends.

•          Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to the Project Manager and donors as required.

•          Document lessons learned, success stories, and best practices for program improvement.

4. Community Engagement and Accountability

•          Engage community leaders, volunteers, and stakeholders to mobilize community members for outreach sessions.

•          Promote awareness on preventive health practices and services offered.

•          Strengthen accountability to affected populations (AAP) through feedback mechanisms and responsive service delivery.

5. Coordination and Representation

•          Represent the organization at health sector and coordination meetings at LGA/state level.

•          Liaise with partners and stakeholders including WHO, UNICEF, NRCS, and State MOH for collaboration and joint interventions.

•          Support advocacy efforts to ensure sustainability and integration of outreach services into the public health system.

Qualifications and Experience

•          Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Public Health, Medicine, or related health field (Master’s in Public Health is an advantage).

•          Experience: Minimum of 5 years in humanitarian health programming with at least 2 years in a supervisory or coordination role.

•          Proven experience managing mobile medical outreach, emergency response, or PHC interventions in hard-to-reach or conflict-affected areas.

•          Strong understanding of Nigeria’s health system, NHF project framework, and donor compliance requirements.

•          Experience in data management, health reporting (DHIS2, HIS forms), and M&E systems.

Skills and Competencies

•          Strong coordination, leadership, and team management skills.

•          Excellent communication, report writing, and stakeholder engagement abilities.

•          Ability to work under pressure, in insecure or remote locations.

•          Fluency in English (Hausa and local dialects are an added advantage).

•          Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
