The Alliance for International Medical Action (ALIMA) is a humanitarian medical organization dedicated to saving lives and improving healthcare access for vulnerable populations. ALIMA works in partnership with local communities and health professionals to provide quality medical care during emergencies and strengthen healthcare systems.

Since its establishment, ALIMA has delivered life-saving interventions across Africa — including Nigeria — focusing on maternal and child health, infectious diseases, malnutrition, and emergency response.

We are recruiting:

Organization: Alliance for International Medical Action (ALIMA) Nigeria
Location: Katsina State, Nigeria
Employment Type: Full-Time / Contract

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to patients following ALIMA medical protocols and procedures.
  • Monitor, record, and report patient conditions to the supervising clinician.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by medical staff.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient documentation.
  • Assist in triage, patient assessment, and emergency response activities.
  • Participate in health education sessions for patients and caregivers.
  • Ensure proper infection prevention and control (IPC) measures are followed.
  • Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary medical team.
  • Support data collection, stock management, and reporting as required.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN), Registered Midwife (RM), or equivalent qualification.
  • Valid practicing license from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional nursing experience (experience in humanitarian or NGO settings is an added advantage).
  • Proficiency in English and Hausa languages (French is an asset).
  • Good computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and basic data entry).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in challenging environments.
