Conflict and Peace Building Officer
Community Health Justice and Peace Initiative for Development -JDPH desires the services of a qualified person who has knowledge on Conflict and Peace Building to serve as its Conflict and Peace Building Officer.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to develop and implement peace-building initiatives and activities in line with project objectives.
- Facilitate community dialogues, workshops, and trainings on conflict resolution, peacebuilding, and reconciliation.
- Support the development and implementation of local peace-building strategies, considering the cultural and social context of the target communities.
- Provide guidance and support to local community leaders, civil society organizations, and volunteers engaged in peace-building activities.
- Conduct regular field visits to project sites and engage directly with community members to understand their needs, perspectives, and concerns.
- Foster a sense of ownership and participation among community members by promoting inclusive decision-making processes.
- Organize and facilitate community meetings and forums to encourage open dialogue, conflict resolution, and mutual understanding.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in peace and conflict studies, international relations, development studies, or a related field.
- Proven (4 years) working experience in peacebuilding, conflict resolution, or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of peace-building concepts, conflict analysis frameworks, and approaches to reconciliation.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in challenging and sensitive environments.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Ability to write report
