Main Purpose of the Role

The Nutrition Supervisor will oversee and ensure proper implementation of all nutrition activities under the Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM) Programme in Gummi. The role involves managing and coordinating the nutrition team, supervising program activities, and ensuring the quality of care for patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and supervise all nutrition activities in line with MSF protocols.

  • Manage and support nutrition staff through recruitment, training, supervision, and performance evaluations.

  • Ensure proper patient follow-up, referrals, and implementation of nutrition and medical prescriptions.

  • Monitor patient care at Therapeutic and Supplementary Feeding Programs (TSFP/ATFC).

  • Supervise stock management of nutrition supplies, medicines, and therapeutic foods (RUTF/RUSF).

  • Ensure accurate data collection, reporting, and use of monitoring tools.

  • Support health promotion, community engagement, and complaint/feedback mechanisms.

  • Promote best practices in infection prevention, equipment maintenance, and staff hygiene.

Requirements (Qualifications & Skills)

  • Education: Nurse qualification (Diploma in Nutrition is an added advantage).

  • Experience: At least 2 years’ experience in nutrition programs (TSFP, ATFC, or TFC).

  • Language: Fluency in English and Hausa is required.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Basic computer literacy (Word, Excel, Internet).

    • Good knowledge of food security and nutrition issues in Northwest Nigeria (desirable).
