Job Title: Senior Programme Officer – Education

Location: Abuja
Employment Type: Full-time

Position Summary

  • The Senior Programme Officer (Education) will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, technical expertise, and oversight in the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of Neem Foundation’s education initiatives.
  • The role will focus on ensuring access to quality education, improving learning outcomes, teacher training, and strengthening education systems in line with Neem’s mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of education programmes and projects.
  • Develop and adapt training curricula, teacher support models, and innovative approaches to improve learning outcomes.
  • Provide technical guidance to programme staff, partners, and stakeholders on education-related initiatives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, donors, and education stakeholders at national and sub-national levels.
  • Coordinate monitoring, evaluation, and reporting on education programmes to measure impact and ensure accountability.
  • Contribute to resource mobilization, including proposal writing and donor engagement, to sustain and expand education initiatives.
  • Represent Neem Foundation in education networks, coalitions, and advocacy platforms.
  • Supervise and mentor junior programme staff working on education projects.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Education, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ relevant work experience in education programme management, preferably with NGOs, international development agencies, or education institutions.
  • Strong understanding of Nigeria’s education sector, policies, and challenges.
  • Proven experience in teacher training, curriculum development, or education system strengthening.
  • Demonstrated experience in programme design, fundraising, and donor reporting.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong analytical, research, and report-writing skills.
