Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) is an independent international medical humanitarian organisation that delivers emergency aid in more than 60 countries to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural or man-made disasters or exclusion from healthcare.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Nanny
Location: Abuja
Employment Type: Contract (Fixed-Term)
Contract: 208 working hours per month
Main Purpose
- Execute, according to hygienic standards, housekeeping, cleaning and tiding up activities in order to ensure public and staff private areas are in good condition.
Job Description
Daily:
- Clean bedrooms, bathrooms, toilets and other rooms by brushing and moping.
- Cleaning and tidy–up tables; coffee table, dining table, kitchen table and cooker, etc.
- To open windows in the morning and close them in the evening.
- To prepare meals for lunch and dinner as instructed.
- To baby sit and take care of the child as instructed.
- Laundry, drying and ironing
Waste disposal:
Weekly:
- A shallow cleaning of windows; can be rotation of different windows at the time.
- Changing bed linen, duvet cover, bath towel, hand towel, kitchen towel, tablecloth/ runner while bath mat can be changed every 2 weeks, unless it was dirty and wet then it should be changed immediately.
- Clean the fridges/ microwave/ oven/ dishrack. To do groceries shopping when requested for the need of coo king.
- To wipe/clean sofa and bed frame from dust.
Monthly:
- To wash curtain every 3 months.
- To wash duvet monthly if not using duvet cover, and every 3 months if using duvet cover.
- To wash sofa, pillowcase.
Others:
- Keep premises properly locked (doors, windows) when leaving the house.
- To ensure appliances are off and secure before leaving the house, washing machine, dryer, fan, stove, etc.
- To report if there is a maintenance issue need to be done either by office or by estate maintenance
- To report if essential products for cleaning is finished.
- To ensure material properly clean and store for the next use
Requirements
- Education: None is required, desirable literacy
- Experience: Previous work experience as a cleaner and nanny required
- Languages: Essential, local language knowledge.
- Knowing basic English is a must
- Computer Knowledge: Literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

- Good knowledge of basic hygiene
- Cooking skills for international dishes.
Remuneration
According to MSF salary scale plus 13th month allowance equivalent to 1 month of gross salary.
