Lindii Peace Foundation (LPF) is a nonprofit non-governmental national organization established in Nigeria in July 2014 with the aim to improve the lives of people through effective and efficient humanitarian and developmental assistance in communities where such supports are essentially necessary within Nigeria. Through international and national networking, LPF provided humanitarian and developmental assistance to individuals, families, schools, Health facilities, and communities in more than twelve (12) states within Nigeria regardless of their ethnicity, political and religious affiliation. LPF fundamentally intervenes in multi-sectoral humanitarian activities majoring in Protection, Health, Food Security & Livelihood, Education, Nutrition, Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) interventions, and other Cross-Sectoral areas.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Community Health Extension Worker
Location: Monguno, Borno
Employment Type: Full-time
Slot: 4 Openings
Duty Description
- Provide obstetrical care to pregnant women and their babies, doing home follow up before, during and after delivery, according to required standard and obstetrical/reproductive health protocols, universal hygienic and newborn caring standards and under supervision of a specialist to avoid post-delivery complications
Main Duties
- Facilitating communication between community members and the facility
- Building a trusting relationship with the community and the facility
- Helping people understand their health or social conditions
- Providing advocacy for those who need it
- Making home visits to high-risk patients, pregnant or nursing mothers, and the elderly
- Holding groups and individual meetings with people in the community
- Delivering health care information in a way that is easy to understand
- Providing informal counselling
- Determining eligibility for health care plans
- Collecting data to inform future programs
- Track an individual’s progress toward meeting health goals.
Qualifications
- Academic: HND and ND in Community Health.
- Professional License: Must have a valid and updated practicing license(preferred)
- Work Experience: Minimum of 1 to 2 years of working experience.
- Computer skills: Candidate must have good knowledge of computer
- Registration: The ideal candidate must be a member of the relevant professional body.
