We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Internal Auditor

Location: Garki, Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • Global Peace Development is seeking a skilled and meticulous Internal Auditor to join our team.
  • The Auditor will be responsible for evaluating and improving the effectiveness of states’ internal controls, risk management processes, and governance practices.
  • The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, exceptional analytical skills, and a strong commitment to ethical conduct and transparency.

Description of Work

  • Conduct comprehensive internal audits to assess the organization’s operational efficiency, financial integrity, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Evaluate internal controls and identify areas for improvement to mitigate risks and enhance organizational performance.
  • Develop audit plans, execute Audit procedures, and prepare detailed audit reports outlining findings and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with state Accountants to guide best practices, risk mitigation strategies, and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor external audit processes and make recommendations and follow up on corrective actions to ensure effectiveness.
  • Stay abreast of best practices in auditing to continually enhance internal audit processes.

Required Qualification and Experience

  • HND/Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Banking and Finance, Business Administration, or related field; professional certification such as ICAN, CIA, CPA, or CISA is preferred.
  • Proven experience (4 years) in internal auditing, risk management, or a similar role, preferably within a national or international organization
  • Strong understanding of auditing standards, internal controls, risk assessment, methodologies, and governance principles.
  • Experience in tax returns and compliance with government regulations
  • Proficiency in conducting audits using relevant tools and software; familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • High ethical standards, integrity, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
