Job Title: Medical Doctor-in-Charge

Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Job Type: Full Time

Job Purpose

  • To provide clinical leadership and ensure the effective and efficient delivery of quality healthcare services at the medical center.
  • The doctor in charge will oversee all clinical activities, maintain high standards of medical care, ensure compliance with health regulations, and contribute to strategic planning and service improvement.

Specific/Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day clinical operations of the medical center.
  • Provide diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care to patients.
  • Conduct physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests appropriately.
  • Perform and assist in major and minor surgical procedures and emergency interventions where necessary.
  • Refer patients to specialists or higher-level facilities as appropriate.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate medical records.
  • Perform ultrasound services
  • Hold weekly clinic staff meetings to review some clinical/surgical cases and activities
  • Oversight of Public Relations efforts to enhance client engagement both online and on-site.
  • Ensure cordial relationship with HMOs and other partnering consultants.
  • Brief the Board of Directors on activities of ARFH Medical Center including how any challenges have been addressed.
  • Provide oversight of laboratory activities and ensure timely quality compliance;
  • Coordinate patient care services to ensure high standards of care and patient satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with medical and legal standards, including infection control, documentation, and safety protocols.
  • Stay up to date with medical developments, treatments, and technologies.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned

Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS/MBChB) or equivalent from a recognized institution. A master’s degree will be an added advantage.
  • Full registration and current practicing license with the relevant Medical Board/Council.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of post-internship clinical experience.
  • Prior experience in a supervisory or managerial role in a healthcare setting is an added advantage.
