Roadmap for Women and Youth Development (RAWYOD) is a youth-led independent development and humanitarian non-profit organization aimed to protect women, youth and children’s rights. It is an organization established to motivate, organize and unite people with an interest in community development agenda focusing on Protection, Environment, Education, Health and Peace Building.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Proposal and Partnership Coordinator
Location: Yobe
Job type: Contract
Job Purpose
- The Proposal and Partnership Coordinator plays a pivotal role in expanding the organization’s resource base through the development of high-quality proposals and strategic partnerships.
- This role is responsible for identifying funding opportunities, coordinating proposal development processes, fostering donor relationships, and supporting cross-functional collaboration for business development and fundraising.
Key Responsibilities
Proposal Development:
- Lead and coordinate the end-to-end proposal development process, including writing, editing, and submission of concept notes, proposals, and grant applications.
- Collaborate with technical teams, finance, M&E, and field staff to gather inputs for compelling, donor-aligned proposals.
- Ensure compliance with donor guidelines, internal quality standards, and submission deadlines.
- Develop and maintain a proposal calendar and track submission statuses and outcomes.
Partnership Management:
- Identify, initiate, and maintain strategic partnerships with donors, INGOs, NGOs, government agencies, and private sector stakeholders.
- Represent the organization in relevant partnership meetings, working groups, and networks to explore collaboration and funding opportunities.
- Develop and update partnership and stakeholder mapping.
Donor Intelligence and Resource Mobilization:
- Conduct donor scoping and maintain a database of active and potential donors.
- Analyze trends in donor priorities and funding landscapes to inform proposal and partnership strategies.
- Support the development of fundraising strategies aligned with organizational priorities.
Knowledge Management and Capacity Building:
- Maintain a library of proposal templates, donor requirements, and past submissions.
- Provide training and technical support to staff on proposal development, donor engagement, and compliance.
- Document lessons learned and best practices for future proposal development.
Reporting and Compliance:
- Support the development of narrative reports for existing grants in collaboration with the M&E and program teams.
- Ensure compliance with donor contractual obligations during proposal and project design phases.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in International Development, Social Sciences, Public Health, Communications, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in proposal writing, donor engagement, and partnership development in the nonprofit or humanitarian sector.
- Proven track record of successful proposal submissions to institutional donors such as USAID, UN agencies, EU, FCDO, GAVI, Global Fund, etc.
- Strong understanding of project design frameworks including logframes, theory of change, and results-based management.
Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and donor platforms (e.g., UN Partner Portal, SAM.gov, Grants.gov, etc.).
- High level of interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity.
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of [French, Arabic, or local languages] is an asset.
Desirable Attributes:
- Experience working in fragile, conflict-affected, or humanitarian settings.
- Ability to coordinate multi-country or multi-partner proposal processes.
- Familiarity with safeguarding, gender equality, and social inclusion principles in project design.
