Finance Officer at Society for Women Development & Empowerment of Nigeria (SWODEN)

Society for Women Development & Empowerment of Nigeria (SWODEN) is a non-discriminatory and not-for-profit Non-governmental organization. The organization was established in 1995 and registered with Corporate Affairs Commission to address current challenges faced by women and youth in accessing basic information and services at the community level that affects their development and also participation in policy development at both micro and macro level. Activities are drawn from their felt needs through grassroots participation and mobilization and use of community structures to ensure sustainability.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Finance Officer

Location: Katsina
Job type: Contract

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and  mely financial records for the project.
• Process payments, prepare vouchers, and reconcile accounts.
• Support budget prepara on and financial forecas ng.
• Ensure compliance with accoun ng standards, donor regula ons, and internal controls.
• Liaise with auditors and provide necessary documenta on.

Qualifications & Experience

• Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in finance within an NGO setting.
• Knowledge of donor financial repor ng requirements.
• Proficient in accoun ng so ware (QuickBooks, Pastel, etc.).
• Strong aten on to detail and ethical financial practices.

Other Requirements:

• Nigerian citizenship or valid work permit.
• Strong commitment to gender equality and women’s empowerment.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and confiden ality.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
• Team player with excellent communication and management skills.
